| Environmental Events Hazardous Waste Roundups Due to the success of participants and the high volume of traffic these events create, Metro has asked that we don’t post their events to the public, BUT we think it is important for you to recycle! So, to compromise, we are offering the dates and towns of Hazardous Waste Roundups, but please call Metro Recycling for actual locations: 503-234-3000 March 7 - 8 Household Hazardous Waste Roundup* Friday and Saturday 9am to 4pm Portland, OR 97219 For location call: 503.234.3000 March 15 Household Hazardous Waste Roundup* Saturday 9am to 4pm North Plains, OR 97133 For location call: 503.234.3000 March 21 - 22 Household Hazardous Waste Roundup* Friday and Saturday 9am to 4pm Portland, OR 97230 For location call: 503.234.3000 March 28 - 29 Household Hazardous Waste Roundup* Friday and Saturday 9am to 4pm Gresham, OR 97030 For location call: 503.234.3000 *While participating in these events, please try not to idle your car- we are solving the toxic waste problem, but we are potentially creating another problem by contributing to air pollution; excessive idling can be hard on your engine and you can reduce smog by turning your engine off when your vehicle is parked or waiting in line. Ten seconds of idling uses more fuel than restarting your engine, and restarting a car many times has little impact on engine components.
